Using Blogger

For anyone who`s not set up a blog before, Blogger makes it easy for you. The most difficult thing is decide on a theme, a template and what to write about.

The only limits are your imagination. you can start a fan-club, write about your local sports team, your pets, a hobby, holidays - anything. There are thousands of free templates, just do a Google search.

Once you`ve decided, time to make money from it. As said before, don`t just cover your blog in Adsense ads, everybody does that.

Affiliate Future is an excellent platform to start with. A wide variety of merchants to promote and different promotional material make it easy to use and promote. So if you decide on a fashion blog, you can promote the latest fashions with not only banners, they also have datafeeds for you to place on your page, showing the latest products. You can choose any category from the vast directory of merchants. Your blog doesn`t have to be about shopping, you can choose entertainment, games, music, computers, bingo - anything.

Amazon also have an excellent referral program and the advantage of being able to buid your own store that will fit in with your blog or use individual products.

Of course, there`s not just affiliate marketing. You could start your own business from home by turning a hobby into a business. Hand made cards and other crafts are always sought after.

Make your own search engine, linking your newly aquired amazon or other affiliate program links into the results is a novel way of advertising your links without making it obvious.

So there are ways to make money and most of these types of blogs can be set up in a few hours.

Using wordpress.

Wordpress is slightly more complicated to use. Not as user-friendly ad Blogger but if you can use Blogger, or have used other blogging methods, is easy to learn.

Wordpress do allow you to host your blog free of charge but if you have your own hosting, there is a better version. Free Wordpress don`t have any plug-ins and is limited to the amount of themes available.

Again, you can use affiliate programs but if you host your own there are money making plug-ins you can add such as starting a membership site, classified ads and directories, which you can charge for. You could also make a gallery and sell photos you have taken or clipart you have drawn, make your own auction site or sell music you have composed but like anywhere else, it`s not a good idea to set up a blog to share files and illegal downloading of music and films.

So these are only a few ideas - just add your own. The skies the limit!
